The BMZ also has some staff seconded to German embassies in its partner countries and to international organisations. For the implementation of its projects, the BMZ relies on the following organisations among others: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), KfW Group, and Engagement Global – Service for Development Initiatives.

This used to be the official seat of Germany's Chancellors. The House of History offers free guided tours. You need to register ahead of time to go in there but I highly recommend doing it. Also you can have a guided tour in the old Parliament's house, especially in the upper house, the German Federal Council which provide even deeper insight into Germany's political system. If you ever wondered what Angela Merkel can or cannot do, this is definitely a must so activity in Bonn

Der Entwicklungshilfeminister diffamiert die deutsche Wirtschaft, so als ob sie ihr Geld mit Menschenrechtsverletzungen und Kinderarbeit verdienen würde! Er verschweigt, dass die deutsche Wirtschaft mit ihrer Importnachfrage schon vielen Ländern geholfen hat, sich zu entwickeln. Das sollte sein „Entwicklungshilfeministerium“ erst einmal nachmachen! Freier internationaler Handel hilft allen Beteiligten. Fair-Trade Handel hilft primär den NGOs, die ihn vermarkten. Da gibt es viele nett bezahlte Jobs und nur ein Bruchteil des Fairtrade-Aufschlags landet wirklich bei den Produzenten. Wenn der Entwicklungshilfeminister so mutig ist, sollte er sich einmal mit der Landwirtschaft anlegen und eine Abschaffung der Agrarsubventionen verlangen. Die ermöglichen künstlich-verbilligte Exporten nach Afrika und zerstören dort die Landwirtschaft. Kein Wunder wenn die Afrikaner dann zu uns kommen wollen.
