Unfortunately, bad service. I arrived 20 minutes after the opening time and was already the 12th person to be sent home without a chance to start my application, on that day. I met the 13th right after me. I lost my train ticket money to Hamburg and my time. Since beginning of September, as of the security guard's information, only visitors with pre-scheduled appointments are allowed. To be fair, I found out later that this was also written at the end of an important pop-up notice that appears (only once) when you visit the website and that you have to accept (the three links in that popup that are supposed to link to more detailed information all lead to the same page about postal information and don't give more details). The step-by-step instructions (which everyone follows for preparing an application) also have the outdated information: \Visiting the Centre without an appointment may cause a longer waiting time\. So the website is badly organised (also judging from the number of people who understood it like me). It was not possible to talk to anyone working at the center to tell them that the online information is outdated (also the information about the visa processing times is inconsistent online). It was also not possible to get information by phone to confirm whether one can come to the center without an appointment: when I got through the labyrinth of pre-recorded information to ask to speak to a human, the connection was cut (I tried twice). Considering most of the system is automated and we have to come in-person to bring the documents, the \service\ fees are also very high.
Fast, helpful and kind. Nice waiting area, even though I never had to wait there for more than 5 minutes.
The guy when I applied was very polite. But when I went back to pick up my Visa the center was closed and there was nothing on the website about WHY it was closed. It was not a Chinese national holiday or a German national holiday. Then when I went back to pick up my Visa on another day the lady was very impolite. She didn't speak any English and she threw the passport at me instead of sliding it across the counter. Also she didn't say anything such as \here you go\ or \Fertig\ or something like that. She just threw the passport at me. On the plus side the place is clean with ample space and seating.
Organized but china/german rigid. I always end up making 2 trips before papers accepted. Never rejected after acceptance of papers.
