Very helpful place. They properly adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic. I much prefer the new system with online appointments rather than waking up very early in the morning and queuing. Appointments are continuously released, so If you don't see an appointment for your time, just keep on checking every day in the morning.

Absolutely incompetent! This is by far the worst facility in Munster and certainly doesn't represent the good and open-minded spirit which this city represents.

I have been trying to get my language learning visa switched into my student visa since Nov. 2019. It has been nearly one year of contacting the office and them requesting more and more documents. Why they simply cannot ask you for all documents at one time is a mystery. It also took about 6 months to have my Anmeldung documents mailed from Cologne to Munster --- 6 months for a distance that takes 2 hours to cover! Everything is extremely behind the times and not technologically up to date, never mind the never ending red tape that is so typical of Germany. This Amt is still better than the one in the Innenstadt in Cologne, but it is nevertheless a complete failure in my opinion. The whole system needs an overhaul.

I am a PhD student at the University of Muenster, my contract expires at the end of June, but I remain a student at the faculty. I wanted to make an appointment for renewal of the residence permit, which expires at the end of June and I just found out that the earliest date possible for the appointment is 9 months later! NINE MONTHS! And I have just been informed that there is nothing to be done, since it is not an emergency case. This is by far the worst administration I have seen and I have lived in first world and third world countries.

Worse service in Germany. And germans pay them for this. Only endless useless bureaucracy.
