Loved this museum so much! It's small but had amazing local charm. The highlight is the tower. It's so high and has scary spiral steps, but so worth it. I found the climb and decent scary but it's a must! Put your fear aside and climb. It's definitely the kind of tower parents threaten to lock their teenage daughters in.

Building of the museum is interesting architecture, but inside there so not many things to see. There are some temporary exhibitions, but temperature inside is terrible. There is no air conditioning and there so hot and sultry. That is the place to quick see and going further.

Das Bopparder Museum ist in der Kurfürstlichen Burg untergebracht. Diese Burg gehörte zu der Stadtbefestigung der Stadt und wurde ab 1265 von Richard von Cornwall erbaut. In den letzten Jahren wurde die Alte Burg saniert und das städtische Museum ist dort untergebracht. Kurz vor dem Lockdown im November war ich noch Mal dort und es hat sich gelohnt. Für 4 Euro Eintritt erfährt man etwas über die Bopparder Stadtgeschichte und hat eine Dauerausstellung über den Tischler Michael Thonet mit seinen Thonetmöbeln. Dazu kommen Wechselausstellungen, wie gerade "heiter bis heftig ll". Das Museum ist geräumig, so dass einzelne Exponate gut zur Geltung kommen. Insbesondere lohnt sich der Besuch, da man vom Turm aus eine tolle Aussicht auf die Stadt und auf den Rhein hat. Das freundliches Personal ist zu erwähnen.
