Fantastic place to spent at least 2 or more hours discovering the sights and walking around the museum... only downside, there is absolutely no information in English and I highly doubt anyone can help you around...

This is a dominant landmark in the town. One may find probably the best view on the historical part of Schmalkalden. Besides the landscape, the cake itself is rather plain and lacks content; has a bit overpriced entrance tickets for a handful of exibitions.

Amazing stately rooms in 1st floor which were mostly empty of furniture due to roof truss repairs at the time of my visit. Ground floor has a great exhibition about (religious) history of the area, which is suitable and interesting for both children and adults.
