Is life with the wife and kids getting too much? Considering a life at sea? Then why not check out this old British sub before committing to the navy. If nothing else then it is a cool experience, although there is no rum on board. You can see how life for the 68 men from the 60s to 90s really was on board a submarine that saw active service during the first Gulf war

This was a very interesting experience. Something you can not do everyday. I do not give 5 stars just because it would be better if they could provide english translations of the descriptions. Moreover, altought not really crowdy inside, you can not stop a lot to check the details or you will stop all other people (space is what it is, but I mean... It is a submarine). But it is mostly my problem because I would like to spend hours there check each single board, valve, tag and button :)

Good experience to see a submarine from inside and how the crew can live in this small tiny place.

You don't get a chance to visit real submarine everyday, so this was sure shot when visiting Sassnitz. I was there in an off season, no crowds at all. You get to spend quite some time inside, it is definatelly not a short visit, took me probably half an hour. The one big disadvantage for visiting guests is that nothing on the boat, meaning the descriptions and explanations, is in english. The submarine itself is british though, so the signs inside are in english. The staff doesn't speak much english as well. I got some printed materials in english, at least that. So it was more a visual experience then learning about the submarine, but that is still cool.
