THIS is one landmark of modern architecture, the International style. The building itself is very impressive. Actually it's closed for overhaul and they don't have any idea, when this will be reopen. You know Berlin! They need soo long time for each building. But to remember, the inside exhibition rooms are very good. But for the moment: this place is for visit good architecture. You will like it. Last review: the reopening is been announced for mid of 2020 ... so that's mean in Berlin reality maybe 2022.

This architectural masterpiece by Mies Van der Rohe (his last building) is currently undergoing a complete overhaul of which Sir David Chipperfield is in charge. Slated to reopen in 2020, the New National Gallery houses primarily 20th century and contemporary art. It'll soon receive an extension by Swiss architects Herzog&DeMeuron which will close the gap between Scharoun's Chamber Music Hall and Van der Rohe's building.
