Beautiful example of an old German castle. 5 Euro to get in is a small price to be able to walk through history. Wonderful views, very cool interior and caves. They also do concerts in the courtyard which is an awesome thing.

Make sure you have Euro. They did not accept cards. Castle is interesting. Recommend the audio tour. Watch your head through the lower portions due to low ceilings. medieval actors with owls and birds are very nice guys with tons of info. Restaurant is delicious (Only takes Euro)
Nice castle tucked away in the hills. The small bar had really cool staff. Will definitely go back for a beer.
This was a great hill to run, and has a nice little restaurant on top. If you are in the area definitely check it out!
Beautiful Castle with an amazing view of Landstuhl. Family friendly due to the castle being not huge and nothing breakable is in sight. The size of the castel is just enough to offer enough walking to get kids tired while exploring each corner of the castle. Parents don't have to worry about kids breaking something since everything is out of stone and the castle itself is basically a sturdy old structure. Eine schöne Burg die kinder freundlich ist und durch die größe benötigt man keinen ganzen tag. Es ist ein perfektes Ausflugsziel mit Kindern!
Exploring the Nanstein Castle was like taking a step back in time. There is a rich history here and remnants of the castle are still intact from hundreds of years ago. You can explore every corner of the castle within an hour or two. I would suggest taking some time to admire the view of the city and surrounding hills from the top. Also, although there is an eerie feeling in some of the dark chambers, try not to rush through. Nanstein Castle is an unforgettable experience.
Absolutely beautiful! Not stroller friendly, so heads up. Full of history and breath taking views. Lots of walking.
Nice castle and area to walk around. Pick up a map and find a trail in the area. The castle is nice and not expensive at all. Good little restaurant outside the front that serves beer and food. Not sure how the food is we drank beer. Worth the trip and the kids enjoyed the day. We did the flat David thing for stateside family.
