A truly unique place to buy yarn, and one of my favorites since I first discovered it over ten years ago! This is the place to go for custom-spun, quality fibers at EXTREMELY fair prices. You pick the colors, fibers, yarn thickness and amount and then the staff wind it up for you on the spot! Know before you go: almost all of their yarns are sold wound up on a cone, and a minimum purchase of 200g usually applies. Also, the choice there can be overwhelming, so it's best to bring along a list of what you're shopping for, or even patterns, and to give yourself LOTS of time to look around. There IS space to sit down if you need a moment to chill and think, and the Wollfabrik staff are always a great help if you need support. The shop itself has been recently refurbished, and the new space is light, open and inviting. Bring a friend and a camera to help you pick out colors for yourself though because you'll be hard-pressed to find a mirror outside the two customer bathrooms. And if you can make it to one of their biannual clearance sales, all the better! You'll get the very best deals in a bustling, almost party-like atmosphere PLUS free cake and coffee!!

So this place is like a bit like a yarn outlet store. They have giant skeins and you can purchase by the gram. It's very professional and I'm sure the pricing is reasonable but be aware it's not really a shop for 'hobby' knitters. I crochet very casually and I like fun yarns in different textures and sizes and here I found only very thin, small wools. The type you can load into a machine. Like very thick thread almost. It's a nice shop I'm giving 4 stars only because they didn't have the variety I was hoping for.
