Great experience. A typical traditional museum where the visitor is a passive observer. The only thing personal in Museum have to think about is the fact that some visitors are not German speakers and that it would be great to put English language notes under the exhibits. Suggestion for the first time visitors: start with top flour of the Museum.

This is a fantastic and superb museum. The display of every object, the impressive amount of objects they found in the excavations, its uniqueness makes it a definetely hideen gem in Halle. One od the most amazing reconstructions of a primitive sourceress can be find in one room, beautifully done and with expertise.

Superb experience in a picturesque city. The museum is a real treasure. Highly competent staff work there. A lady told ma the fascinating story of the Nebra sky disc in perfect Polish.

Well run museum filled with fossils and displays of ancient Europe. There are many displays of the people who once inhabited Europe with artifacts of jewelry, tools and weapons. We came to see the mysterious Nebra Sky Disc and the Hand of Parëles. These two bronze objects are thought to be at least 5,000 years old and are of unknown origin or function. Beautifully presented they are wonders to behold with metals from England and the Carpathian Mountains?! There are audio tours in English and few of the exhibits are in English. Not a problem though as you can work it out.

Great presentation of interesting fossils, skeletons, prehistoric tools, crafts, art from the surrounding archaeological sites. Time covered from the neandertals to the roman empire. Good mix of things to see and read. The astronomical disc of Nebra is displayed and explained. Recommend.

Generally a nice place, but it really depends on what you want to see. They have an amazingly made old world elephant in the uppermost floor together with some cool skeletons and teeth. However it is a bit much text and less to actually see. The second floor however is much better, having many real human skeletons you can see, their cause of death and similarity to us now is just amazing. I am a fan of 'show don't tell', that's why it only gets 4 stars. The shop is not very good, they have unicorns which is weird because it is a scientific museum.

No English but the main thing, and also probably in Halle, is the sky disc. All the texts are on the Wikipedia page. the exhibits are really well put together, and probably the best museum I have seen that manages to tell a good story with archaeological digs. The curators kinda went all out with the displays. Worth a look.
