The LEGACY of Kriegsmarine which was part of wehrmacht in WW-2 is presented hear as a U-boat typ : XXI / U 2540. The tehnology develeped and implimented in this submarine was coppy by almost all naval forces in the world. The U-boat U 2540 newer see action or even went on patrol. It was sinked by it's own crue at the end of the war. After the war West Germany rased the U-boat in 1957 and returned back to service in 1960 and finish her life time in renuved German navy in 1984. 12 years under water. 3 years in repers. 24 years in active duty. What can be told about German engenering at the end of the war ? Enter fee for adults 3,5 . 144 scale RAVEL kit costs 15. If you are near Bremerhaven take the trip to see whay German engenering was at the edge of known tehnology during WW - 2 era.

The experience of seeing a submarine from the inside, the small space where a crew of 58 had to work together, and to see so much technology cramped in there, is really a great experience. All information boards are in German and English. To get from one compartment to another, you have to climb through small circular doorways. And with an entry fee of 3.50 Euro per adult, it is definitely worth seeing.

Great experience entering a submarine that was built at the end of the 2nd world War but never made it into the battle.. 3.5EUR entrance fee - watch out.. The staff there is old and feisty :)

Great museum! It is very interesting to look at on the inside and outside. Lots of things are labeled and many rooms have furniture and such. Also, the doorways are still small holes so watch your head!

It was one of my wish to visit this glorious submarine, and I wonder how high was the Technical level of the German during world War 2

Magnificent old submarine. Completed at the end of ww2 and never used in combat. Sunk by its crew in '45 and recovered in '57. Now a museum and great to pay a visit. Fee only 3,50 eu pp but cash only. Entry at the front with one way route on board and exit at the back.
