The Cold War Museum is a nonprofit organization that is headquartered in Vint Hill, Virginia; USA has. The Cold War Museum was founded in 1996 by the son of the pilot, Francis Gary Powers, Jr. and John Welsh. The office “The Cold War Museum - Berlin” supports the research and analysis of the Cold War era in Germany. Germany, especially Berlin, was the seismograph between the Eastern and Western blocs during the Cold War. The Cold War Museum - Berlin e.V. has been a registered association at the district court in Berlin-Charlottenburg since June 2012 and is also a non-profit organization with the mandate to educate and process the Cold War on both sides of the Iron Curtain in Germany.
