Fantastic narrow gauge railway through the Saxon countryside. Steam hauled hour long trip to Oberwiesental a nice little mountain resort.

We had a really awful time! Firstly, there were no toilets where you buy the tickets (after a long drive and then a good wait for the train) . You must pay 50 cents and borrow a key. These crazy Germans zelots tried to lock me in the toilet. When my step mother tried to stop them (and we had paid for the toilets but she couldn't explain that to them and they seemed to have a big problem with foreigners) roughly pushed her aside, then marched back to the ticket desk with the key trying to agressively knock me over. They tried to lock my four year old daughter in the toilets alone. When I complained (in fairly good German) they told me it was a problem for them too! REALLY! Then sort it out! Charge fifty cents extra for the tickets. They have just had 26 years to sort out their customer service here and they still are obsessed with paying for toilets- how about actually working for money. We arrived at the end of the line and there was nothing! No restaurant, no cafe, not even a vending machine. Even at other stations, there was not one restaurant open. This was not an easy or fun day out with two kids who had been looking forward to it. If you do venture out on this steam train, then bring your food with you and a portable toilet for the wait. Or just stay in the west!

Nostalgie pur. Früher täglich genutzt für die Fahrt zur Schule. Mittlerweile Opa fahre ich ganz gern mal mit meinem ebenfalls Dampflokbegeisterten Enkel mit der Weißeritztalbahn. Das Zugpersonal ist ausschließlich sehr freundlich. Für den Aufwand der betrieben werden muss, um den Zug zum Fahren zu bringen angemessene Preise.
Velký zážitek nejen pro děti. Lze jet celou trasu v délce cca hodiny, nebo jen kousek a zase druhým vlakem zpátky. Lokomotivy i vagóny krásné, dým, pára, odfukování, houkání,průvodčí ze starých časů... Vřele doporučuji.
Parní mašinka byla mimo provoz, ale model kolejiště H0 - úzkokolejka - pro dědi byla dostatečnou satisfakcí v nouzi
