Coming from the US I have to say the process of auto registration and licensure is a delightful process. It‘s quite straightforward (assuming you‘ve done your homework and tried to not just wing it). Of course some German language skill is super helpful but not wholly necessary. I have found the staff to be extremely pleasant and a joy to work with!

Great Customer Service at Fahrerlaubnis Department! I was at Fahrerlaubnis department 3 times in the last 10 days and must say that employees were very professional and nice, waiting time was very short even though I was a \walk-in\ customer without appointment. And what is the most important - employees were not burocratic and were able to go deep into my complicated case and solve it. I am very happy with their service!
