Empowerly is located in Berlin, Germany on Else-Lasker-Schüler-Straße 20. Empowerly is rated 3 out of 5 in the category non-profit organization in Germany. Vision Every girl needs to have equal start in life and receive the opportunity to attend school, to learn to be independent and to be in charge of her own life, including making decisions, concerning her further education, her personal life, her health and her future job and her income sources. Mission Our mission is to empower girls and young women from underprivileged regions through access to (non-)formal education. We believe that this is groundbreaking for their intellectual growth, future financial independency and also crucial for developing their potential. Motivation Unfortunately, girls and young women often don't have the same access to educational resources when coming from poor families, where the education focus and the hopes for future return on investment in the owns child's education are traditionally set on boys or on a limited number of children within the family due to scarce resources within the family and the common misbelief, that it is not equally „worthy” to invest in young girls or at least, not in all of them when having numerous children, because their primary role in life is getting married. We are not against the establishment of a family or bearing of children, we simply believe that if and when this is the case, it should be a result of personal choice and not familiar or societal pressure and the only option a young woman has. Educated girls grow not only into fulfilled members of the society, they are also better mothers, spouses and citizens.
