I love, love this place! You have to join but it wasn't a problem, I think you can ask for the forms to fill in to get your tax back at the airport, I forgot to that this time, but I might try when I go to the Berlin store. The Dusseldorf store has the biggest range of products. Great for sketch pads, huge range and good prices. Great stock of watercolours. I love all the German made calligraphy nibs which are so cheap compared to Australia, I just bought them to test as they are usually so expensive I don't bother, like 20 a nib for the wide ones!!. I also bought Schmincke gouache (hard to find such a selection of artist quality in Australia), a big selection of colours and different types (which was sort of confusing) and all artist quality pigments. I mainly stuck to German or European brands as they tend to be the best value compared to Australian prices. After about 3 hours I ran out of time and thought I should go or I would have bought even more stuff!! I found the Berlin store good too but it doesn't actually stock all the same stuff and isn't quite as big. I can't remember seeing as wide a selection of watercolour brands for example.

Artists Paradise! At least twice a year I drive down from Amsterdam to Düsseldorf to buy materials and collect the new catalog. Not that there are no good art stores The Netherlands, but since Boesner withdrew from Amsterdam, I’ll love to travel to my German artist paradise and visit the old city

Art supplies store with very good quality products. The only downside is that you cannot pay with a credit card, just EC card and cash. Also, you have to be a member.
