Trains are never staying in time table, customers left into dark cold platforms to wait next train for more than 2 hours. The most important thing to learn from Germany, never ever trust DB and trains. Try to avoid but otherwise reserve whole day for 1 hour trip.

When it comes to German Engineering and German Punctuality, the Deutsche Bahn fails terribly. In my opinion underinvestment is the reason behind that. I had to wait that day 30 minutes in the cold because there trains are late. A daily delay of 5-10 minutes is something to expect and it is very good if that was the case.
Completely unreliable service. Most of the trains come late. Terrible company, poorly managed
I have to laugh at locals who complain about Düsseldorf's transit system sometimes being delayed. Where I'm from, public transport does not exist in the way it does in Germany. Yes, the transit systems are sometimes delayed and their staff have a tendency to strike now and then, but they ensure their commuters are well informed of any activity that may delay their services. I think Deutsche Bahn's trams, trains and buses are brilliant. Stations are well signed and most have up-to-date digital screens to keep you informed. They run efficiently and are the life blood of Düsseldorf. They are also clean which I think is an outstanding achievement considering how many people use them! Top job Deutsche Bahn Düsseldorf, I think you rock the daisies!
