Darmstadt is home to a couple brewpubs, with this one being very close to the main train station. The Darmstädter Privatbrauerei's main brand is Braustüb'l beer, of which they offer several varieties, all nicely made and fine examples of their styles. The sprawling brewery occupies a 3-story white brick building with red trim. A gated entrance driveway opens to a courtyard. The visitors entrance is on the right where you can read about the history of the brewery. The building to the right is for their packing and distribution. From the courtyard, large windows allow you to see their large stainless steel brewing vessels inside, and directly overhead is a steam vent through the roof. To right is their grain mill, and more brewery equipment is in the room to the left. Behind the building to the right is a farm of several large multistory outdoor fermenters which are jacketed in corrugated steel. It is a very large operation with wide distribution of their Braustüb'l brand. Just next door to the brewery is their Braustüb'l brewpub. It occupies a white concrete building with brick trim. Over the entrance is an arching wooden awning and their ornate sign with gold letters. Inside is a spacious dining room with a bar and a variety of seating options. Inside is an old copper brew kettle which is now decorative. The original brewery was built closer to the rail line in 1847, but moved to this larger location in 1880. The brewery's traditional Braustüb'l brewpub here was reborn in 1999, and nicely carries on the tradition. I recommend a visit for their delicious food and variety of local beers.

Ich habe das Gelände während einer Führung kennengelernt und es war informativ und kurzweilig. Wir kamen an die Betriebsanlagen ganz nah ran. Nur die Rezepte wurden uns nicht verraten. Ich kann Ihnen eine Führung sehr empfehlen.
