Great views of the valley. One can go even further to reach the top of Westliche Karwendelspitze. An amazing place.

This a very tiny hut, but its location makes it so amazing. After a bit of scrambling and walking through the loose stones from Hochlandhütte, we reached to this hut. From this hut there is a trail to Karwendelspitze but we didnt take that trail. Like many other huts this hut also opens during summer only. So, when we reached there in November it was closed but i really liked its location. I must go back there in Summer.
After a long hike and the border crossing from Austria, we arrived at Dammkar. I feel at home in routes like this. Stunning mountain scenery, huts and lodges, and a society of real hikers. The hut is as it should be.
Tasty food. Simple self service setup.

Fijne plek om uit te rusten na de prachtige wandeling vanuit Mittenwald. Een heerlijk relaxed sfeertje: iedereen kletst met elkaar, "niets moet, alles mag". Hier heb je een geweldig uitzicht op de bergketens rondom, die uitnodigen om nog verder omhoog te gaan.
Auf dem Ochsenbodensteig hochgestiegen. Anstrengend aber man wird mit grandioser Aussicht belohnt. Riesenstück leckerer Rotweinkuchen war verdient. Empfehlung!
