We visited Chocolaterie Beluga at Viktualienmarkt during our recent visit to Munich and enjoyed the chocolates purchased here. This is a popular place for hot chocolate and you'll find quite a few locals enjoying a cup during your visit. There is also a small retail section of various chocolates, gelato and other chocolate treats. We purchased several bags of alpine, milk and dark chocolates (4.50 for 9-10 pieces), finding them to all taste rather nice. We particularly liked the milk caramel and plain dark chocolates. This was the only chocolate shop we tried in Munich so not sure how they fare compared to peers around the city. However, we were happy with our purchases from Beluga and would be happy to pick up chocolates from this shop again in the future.

Quite possibly the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had, and the staff was extremely attentive and welcoming. We came back three days in a row. Strongly recommended.
