Well, interesting story - We went over to the Roman Camp in Xanten and I was looking for a cosy brewery around. Apparently, I mistakely phoned the brewery and hung up while dialing (we wanted to leave our decision open and the time schedule was not set by then). Two hours later, the owner called me back. I was a bit surprised, but confirmed a reservation for 5 pm. Good decision. The service was fast and friendly and the food was done within a good craftmanship manner. The card provides a small, but fair choice between local varities and 'general' picks. Just one word - If you expect lots of own brewed beers, you will be disapointed. They only have one brand, but this one was subjectively perfect for me (brown unfiltered, slightly sweet taste). Of course, additional TV beers are available (which is not my taste). Anyhow, I really recommend this restaurant. You will feel comfortable in a historical atmosphere.

Sehr gute Küche. Nette Inhaber Wir sind immer gerne hier. Absolut empfehlenswert das Mühlenbier wenn man schon in Kalkar ist, muss man das probieren.

Sehr gemütlich Atmosphäre. Die Speisekarte ist wirklich toll und das Essen ist super lecker. Wir hatten Vor-, Hauptspeise und Nachspeise. Ein Gedicht. Wirklich zu empfehlen.

Das Essen was wir bestellt hatten war sehr zügig auf dem Tisch. Uns hat es gut geschmeckt und die Bedienung war sehr nett.
