French restaurants in Berlin often have a decent wine selection but the food is uninteresting. Belmondo is the exact opposite. My guest and I both had starters along with our main meal and everything was well prepared. After having tried many French restaurants in the city, this was the best meal I've had without a doubt. The wine list though is rather disappointing. Most bottles come from the Bordeaux region and the options are generally safe choices but not really exciting. Wines from other regions were less mature and should probably sit in a cellar for a few years. Would I go back? Absolutely. I gave them five stars because when your only complaint is about the wine list, you've done a good job already. If they improve their wines, it is a restaurant I would frequent often.

Traditional French dishes done in a quaint small joint with some very attentive service. Food quality is great and the prices are very high - but hey - you signed up for it if you came to dine here. While we did not have any drinks, the wine list appeared to have some interesting stuff in there. Meat was very good, sauces done just right and desserts were also good. Overall, pricey place for a traditional French meal when that urge cannot be resisted any more!!
