Delicious food from a diverse menu, excellent local beers and a good wine selection. All topped off with a great location underneath the Schloss walls and really friendly staff. Can’t recommend enough.

A hidden Gem in the Bautzner old city! Their menu has lots of information on this antic location, it was a pharmacy, therefore the decor has been done with old pharmacy bottles etc...as is the menu, built up on fresh herbs, special drink mixtures with and without alcohol. We had a great meal as you can see in our photos, sadly a few weeks later our next meal there was just ok.
Recreated history of liqueurs production, incredibly useful to health :) , which combined with expertly cooked meat dishes with aromatic delicate spices are creating great mood. Meat sauce recipe remained a pleasant mystery, that I would like to unravel. All this combined with friendly staff have maked my evening unforgettable.
Excellent!! Fantastically creative with combinations. We (Sandra Knippel, see review) left the restaurant and savored subtle flavors lingering in our mouths for the rest of the evening. I read some of the negative reviews and, without criticizing those people, can say that if you don’t “get” what they are doing there, then it might provoke the wrong response. They are carrying the theme of Apotheke, from start to finish, right into the food. One of the most memorable meals, and without a shred of pretense, I’ve ever had.
Die Gaststätte "Zur Apotheke" ist ein echter Geheimtipp in Bautzen. Am Ende der Schlossstraße gelegen erwartet den Gast ein urig originelles Ambiente. Die Speisen sind raffiniert zubereitet und sehr, sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war überaus freundlich. Der Besuch dieses Restaurants ist sehr zu empfehlen!
Seit 25 Jahren immer wieder ausgesuchte Speisen und Getränke. Sehr zuvorkommende Bedienung und eine Küche, die viele Sonderwünsche möglich macht. Wir kehren sehr gern dort ein und lassen uns verwöhnen. Umso trauriger ist es, dass Gäste der Meinung sind, diese Gaststätte als Spielhölle zu betrachten und damit andere Gäste belästigen. Wenn diese Gäste schon mehr als freundlich aufgefordert werden, das Kartenspielen zu unterlassen, ist es umso unverständlicher nach dem Bezahlen noch eine beleidigende Diskussion mit dem Wirt zu diesem Thema anzufangen!
Haben hier mit vier Personen gegessen und waren sehr zufrieden. Sehr nette Bedienung, interessante Auswahl an wohl schmeckenden Speisen. Hunde freundlich. Einziger kleiner Mangel, die Fasanenbrüstchen waren etwas trocken.
