What a historic building right at the center of Bamberg and close to the old rathaus. The cathedral portrays Catholic over a millennium aga and the richness it offers through history of Church for the people of Bamberg. Monuments are nicely spaced out as the hall is large (with ongoing constructions of the podium). There's underground sitting place unfortunately locked and out of access to visitors as of yesterday. However you'll still find enough to go round and appreciate the beauty of it's architecture or see God in the splendor of how the people of Bamberg largely perceived as Catholics. Sure during mass one find another atmosphere to observe institution of church at service to it's members. However as visitor it's already enough to enjoy sightseeing. Nearby you'll find various attractions and city life, rose flower garden, eateries and museums. There's nothing to miss visiting this cathederal.

Gorgeous and the main catholic church of Bamberg. Built in the 13th century, the church is on slightly higher grounds from the river level.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site of old town in Bavaria. Ever glorious and gorgeous tourist spot. This Heritage Site can be reached by walking from Bamberg Train Station to the old quarters. Hilly and steep but lovely scenery of the Regnitz River, a large tributary of the Main River. This Cathedral has always been under renovation. It was freezing cold when I visited this place but it was lovely! Worth the visit.
Very nice place to visit, the place deserve your be walked around and enjoy the view, don’t miss the roses garden, it’s a very beautiful view from the city.
Very nice small town in Bavaria. I’m sure I would have enjoyed more if i spoke German. Or if I went with a friend and stayed there for a whole day. It is a beautiful place to relax and slow down your life pace. People there don’t speak English very well. The bus driver did not speak English and the passengers were explaining things in German. After I figured out where I was, I realized most places did not accept any card payment. The restaurants were all very busy. After living in the States for 10 years, I’ve got used to waiting to be led to seats. Here they told me to find a seat myself but after 10 minutes, two waiters walked passed by several times, no one seemed to notice that I was sitting there. Summer is a great time to visit if you can bear the heat. The strawberries there are huge, juice, and sweet!
