The site consists of free accessible ruins and a museum (entrance fee 6 euro). The museum includes the part of the monastry that is still complete

great experience and historical view... a must when you are visiting the Lower Saxony / South Harz area of Germany.

A well restored abby with a well documented history. Even though it was only in German it was easy to follow.

Medieval abbey, partly in ruins to which there is free access (surprisingly there were people clambering over the ruins unchecked). To see it properly you need to enter the museum. There's a very good audioguide available at no additional cost, with adult and child versions, but in German only. Near the end of the monastery tour there's an unexpected wealth of exhibits and information, mostly in German with little bits of English.
