SCU Members Beware!!! The SCU will not hesitate to shut down your account and turn your money over to a German collector who files against you without Due Process. A collection notice was sent to three of my financial institutions and the SCU is the only one that shut down my account and turned my money over. Even after the Base Staff Judge Advocate said the collection had no merit. My other two Financial institution agreed and took no action. The SCU is not here to serve you as a member. I have been a member of the SCU for over 30 years and during this process I felt like the SCU did not represent ME as a member but instead left me feeling like it was the German Government I was talking to and I had no right's to fight this action. And to think this is an American Financial Institution!?! For those who decide to stay/go with the SCU...Good Luck!!!

Incompetent employees! I had a cd with scu and contacted the branch a few weeks before it’s maturity date and asked to allow it to mature. They told me to call on the maturity date so I did. The person I talked to on the phone, after reprimanding me for waiting until the maturity date to call, said he would move the funds into my savings. That never happened and it renewed. I went to a branch to talk to someone and ask them to fix their problem but they said there was nothing they could do and I would have to wait until it matures the next time.

A few years ago when I was very new to the military, just got stationed at Ramstein, I had to get a car so I went to MAS (Military Auto Source) and the People there where Amazing, Raff and Aaron are the best salesman there. But anyways I had to get a loan from Service credit union there and it was the worst decision I ever made, they where great at first couple of months, but after that they became a huge pain in my a, they dont care at all about you, all they care about is getting numbers and money. I have to still deal with the mess they gave me and it makes it really hard to do anything that involves credit. I can go on and on about how bad this bank is but I will just say is DO NOT GET A ACCOUNT AT THIS BANK! It is one of the worst mistakes I made, please dont do what I did.

Account holders beware!! I am very sad about my experience with Service Credit Union. I am overseas and have had an account with them for over 5 years. Recently they have changed to a new service model and started charging for their accounts. 10 a month. They did this without truly notifying or getting consent from the account holders. They said they \mailed\ notices out and then automatically converted everyone to the 10 a month option. Not only did they change everyone to the 10 a month option, but the fees from that option caused my account to be over drawn and created more fees... 180 in fees total. They said that they would be willing credit back a small portion of the fees. And that the branch managers would not be able to assist and are only able to act as middle men due to the account being over drawn. So not only was I NOT able to do deal with the local branch, but the local branch would not give me the details of the \special accounts\ team that was handing my account. This forced the local branch to be middle men. I am going to be closing my account and going to a different bank. Sadly, I never expected a Credit Union to be able to provide such fee ridden, terrible service. It is shocking they are legally allowed to have \Service\ in their name. I strongly suggest you review other banking options. Service Credit Union has high fees for Euro conversion, bill pay, and even checking. I have had several Credit Union accounts over the years, and they have all been exceptional. It is clearly not the case here. I would not recommend anyone ever bank with this company.
