Great place to visit, nice view over the city and more to explore at the ruins than you may think. If you're there with small children, keep them close as there are some unsecured areas where they may hurt themselves or fall off.

The view as amazingly good, the Castle Ruin can be seen from Schramberg city. There is a small road going up towards the castle which will need a kin drive as passing other cars will be tricky. But as soon as you reach up hill, the view is beautiful. The whole city is below you. There is history written in Germany. If you have an interpreter then it'll be even better. Or a Google translator app can help you out as well.

The castle ruin is most unique, with spectacular views of the town a long, long way down in the valley below. One can only imagine the engineering skills of the stonemasons and architects that went into the construction of it - atop a very steep and high hill all those years ago. How they got those huge stones up there, and then put them all together, is anyone's guess. Especially as there was not the equipment back then that we have today. The road up to the castle is very steep and narrow - only wide enough for one car in any direction - there are very few passing points. Therefore, one really does need to excercise extreme caution, behind the wheel at all times. But, once up there..it's worth it. But when going down...keep tight control of the car at all times.

Beautiful castle and an amazing view towards Schramberg. You can go up from the city, which is not recommended for disabled people, or from the backside. There is a parking lot close by the \Burgstüble\ , where you can eat quite good at fair prices.
