This is another beautiful church. Lots of stained glass windows. There is also a crypt under the church.

The midday prayer with organ music was deeply touching. Those huge pillars holding up the roof seem to also lift one's spirit. The energy rises and is further carried up by the flute-like sounds of high organ notes.
Dom St. Peter (St. Peter's Cathedral) is probably one of the most impressive Gothic cathedrals in Bavaria. It is one of the most important religious houses and a fine attraction to visit during visits to Regensburg. St. Peter's history dates back to around 700 with the present cathedral being built between the 13th and 16th century in a position slightly east of the original church. The cathedral includes French Gothic style architecture including buttresses, spires, gargoyles and numerous small statue figures fitted into small niches, elaborate portal entrances and two large towers fronting the facade. The exterior is quite attractive if you enjoy Gothic architecture. The interior is very impressive as well. You'll fine a tall and narrow nave, ceiling vaults, very impressive stained glass windows, altars, artworks and sculptures. The interior is darkly lit and hard to photograph at times. There is a small crypt in the centre of the cathedral as well as a treasury (1.50 per person) with an impressive collection available to be viewed. We enjoyed our time at St. Peter's Cathedral. It is an impressive Gothic church, one that we would very much enjoy seeing again the next time we visit Regensburg.
Beautiful high Gothic cathedral with numerous interesting passageways and areas around it. Has all the \usual\ (if high Gothic can ever be called usual) arches, windows and statues, but look for the little details. I loved the tiny carved niches next to the main doors with tiny figures inside (what were they about?). The basement likewise has lovely interesting details. Well worth a visit.
Absolutely a stunning sight. When you first see the cathedral from the outside, your jaw just drops from its beauty. Once you walk in, the beauty just continues to amaze. Bar far worth the visit if you are in the area.
