What a beautiful place this is. The last time I visited Pirna was in the early 1990 right after the wall came down. Incredible how beautiful it is now.

Place I didin't know is existing;) Very nice, authentic Town leading with pleasent Mayor. I have not seen surroundings cause of lack of time, but City Center I'm wormly recommending to visit.
Very nice Weihnachtsmarkt and surrounding, not as crowded as Dresden which made it even nicer.
I like the place and architecture. Hint: look for the roof and it's eyes :).. Note that it is Germany so that many places will only accept payment in cash or a German payment card (forget about Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners)
We have visited the square during Christmas market and the place really had very pleasant atmosphere. It was a pity that it was raining instead of snowing, but we enjoyed it anyway.
The whole old city center is very nicely renovated and this market is no exception. You can find here a wide selection of local products from pastry to cheese and meat plus some snacks like, e.g. sausages, or fish sandwiches.
