It's Kafer , so quality is reliably good for fresh Produce. For everything there is a significant price markup over other stores, so it's always worthwhile checking that you can't get it cheaper at other local suppliers. The fish section is very good. Service is always good, but the the shop is nearly always very crowded , it's near impossible to socially distance.

This is the main and heritage shop of famous Käfer stretching over several floors. It's offering a huge selection of all kinds of high quality to luxury groceries and more. The interior is quite well designed with themed areas. You will find anything you like here. Staff is friendly and helpful. You can also sit down in the restaurant and café at the side of you like. Coffee and sweets were very standard though considering the high price. In my opinion you can also get this kind of groceries in other shops with at least the same quality, maybe not just in this variety. I was also missing a precise description of where the food came from or production methods other high class food stores feature. Käfer is also putting a premium on the price tag for their brand and some standard articles are definitely overpriced. Many customers are Munich \Schickeria\ (nouveau-riche) and shopping tourists coming here for showing off money-spending. Käfer became famous mainly because at some point in the 1960s they started to offer exotic/ luxury food in Munich as well as being able to deliver them with their catering service to state or big company events. Of course the luxury Oktoberfest tent also contributed further to their fame.
Ordered a Christmas hamper online 9 days ago with UPS express delivery. Still has not arrived and no response from Käfer to my emails either. No email with tracking number provided. Surely a tracking number should be provided? Advice is to stay away from their online order system. Very bad experience!
Upscale gourmet shop and bakery, good coffee, mixed experience with staff, especially at the coffee counter
Great spot for quality beer, wine, cheese, baked goods, and fresh fruit and veggies. As foreigners from the U.S. with essentially no German language skills,the employees here really helped us out by knowing some English. This place was our go-to market.
