This monument stands in tribute to the 76th Infantry Regiment that fought in World War One. As other reviewers have mentioned, it was raised by Nazi Germany as propaganda in the build up to war, but was saved from demolition after the Second World War after it was rededicated to all soldiers who died in the Second World War. The monument features a concrete block. All around the block are relief sculptures of soldiers marching one after another almost as a futile gesture of endless wars.

Jeder sieht etwas anders darin. Für mich ein wichtiges Denkmal um an das sinnlose Sterben in einem Krieg zu erinnern.
In Bayern gibt es keine Diskussion, in Speyer steht der Satz auch. Das gehört zur Geschichte.
Ohne kritische Einordnung in den historischen Kontext des National(sozial)ismus ist das Denkmal als solches schlicht kriegsverherrlichend und an diesem Ort mehr als fehl am Platze. Das Denkmal als historische Quelle ist durchaus erhaltenswert. Jedoch gehört es in ein Museum.
