We went on a tour with Carl last weekend (1 Irish, 1 British and 1 American girl) and it was so much fun. From the minute I emailed Carl looking for info, he was helpful and informative giving me lots of info on accommodation / hikes / restaurants in the broader region. The wine tour itself was great. Carl brought us to really unique wineries and we had great chats with all the owners. While Riesling is definitely the main grape, there were still some interesting wine options and I felt I learned a lot. I have never done a wine tour with so many bottles being opened and tasted. The little touches i.e. a welcome sekt and tasty pastries were very welcomed. I would highly recommend a tour with Carl. I initially thought the price point was a little high, but when I saw everything we got for that money, it was so worth it. And the scenery is so beautiful. Do it now!

The most amazing wein tour I had so far! Carl is so professional and entertaining. Me and my friends had the best time, in most amazing winery's! Will definitely book a tour again!

We were absolutely amazed by the Grape Escape tour in the Rheingau with Carl! Carl was utterly enthusiastic and had quite of few wine facts up his sleeve! The vineyards we visited offered generous degustation sessions We learnt SO much from Carl and the winemakers! Carl is a very easy going companion, open-minded and totally emanating his ️ for wines and customers! The tour comes with wonderful surprises! 5 out of five!

It was amazing experience that I could visit great wineries in Mosel. Carl is nice and fun guy. I felt like traveled with old good friend. He loves wine and has plenty knowledge about wine and Germany viticulture and winemaking. He created great original tour for me. I'm good at winetasting a little more than general public. His tour very very fulfilled me. (I have certificate of JSA wine expert and WSET level3(now diploma candidate), Der Deutsche Weinkenner. ) If you are good at wine and thinking visiting German winerges you should ask him. If you don't know about wine but have interest, you will be great German wine lover after Carl's wine tour.

This is one of, if not the, best wine tours I’ve done. Carl is a fantastic ambassador for German wines and tailored the tour perfectly to our tastes. Given the flexibility of the tour, your tastes, and the time of year the stops will vary, but you can count on three excellent small and family-owned wineries you wouldn’t have otherwise found and another stop in the middle for a good lunch and, of course, more wine. We visited in early September, so one of the stops was a celebration of a new vintage in Rheingau where we were able to meet ninth-generation winemakers and do multiple vertical tastings and another into Rheinhessen for some pinot noirs. Carl picked us up from our AirBnB in Frankfurt with a bottle of sekt (German sparkling wine) and dropped us back off at the end of the day so we didn’t have to lug our wine around. He is extremely personable and made sure we had the full experience at each stop even though that meant going quite a bit later than he originally planned. It’s important to note that the wine flows very freely on this tour, so be sure to pace yourself to avoid turning into a wine bogan.
