The cathedral is a survivor and apparently the little gargoyles that protect it from damp and heavy rain, also saved it from bombs in WW2. Also the construction took 3 centuries from start to finish so it'd better be tough. The tower/spire is said to be the most beautiful ever and I have no reason to doubt that. The gothic style architecture with red stone is just a right combination.

Beautiful old Minster. Quiet, contemplative place in the midst of a busy town. An architectural masterpiece. Wonderful.

Typical. In the historic center of the city. Around it is a marketplace, just like in the Middle Ages. Very living historical place. The cathedral is of captivating beauty, but its main value is the living past that surrounds this whole site even today.

It is amazing to see the differences in the architecture of this place due to the time they took to build it. I don't like the lack of illumination, but I understand is the concept of the architecture. You can visit the church while the messes are not taking place. It is amazing how this church is one of the few place that remained after the war. I loved it

Very large church in the middle of Freiburg. What's cool is the small shops around it. Free admission.
