The area of Diepental Dam between Leverkusen and Leichlingen was once a beautiful spot where young and old people came to go boating, fishing and swimming, have lunch or dinner in the restaurant, play mini golf or walk around the lake. Over the past decade, this area has decreased significantly in quality. The main restaurant has closed, it's impossible to go boating and the mini golf section has been abandoned. The water level has sunk which has reduced the size of the lake by about a third. The lake looks muddy and sandy and instead of ducks, fish or swans, you will only find geese there. Avoid.

Schönes Naherholungsgebiet. Leider mussten 2020 1500 Kiefern wegen Borkenkäferbefalls gefällt werden.

Die Bilder täuschen zum Teil. Insgesamt ist die Örtlichkeit ziemlich verwildert und die Wege sind zum Teil in einem schlechten Zustand. Das Haupthaus am Wasser lässt erahnen, wie schön es hier früher gewesen sein muss, jedoch ist der Glanz komplett verlorengegangen. Ursächlich hierfür sind wohl Streitigkeiten mit der Kommunalverwaltung. In der Umgebung gibt es deutlich schönere Ecken für einen Spaziergang!
