Nice Castles. Augustusburg is only to be visited with a guided Tour (included in price). Nice roccoco Castle.

Total experience is poor. Meant for locals and not overseas visitors. The Bad: Very poor service and sign posts for the English visitor. Not popular so you get no idea what others are doing or going for food etc. They shut for lunch so it's a very strange. Not a lot of seats and public amenities. Distances are further than they say. Not children, wheelchair and seniors friendly. The Good: Find the Brühl town at the back of the castle. It's well hidden and not sign posted. Allow 5-10 mins to walk there. Not much foot traffic to it from the castle so you'll easily miss it. If they would connect the town with the castle, the total experience is very much better. All it needs is a few multilingual signposts. Impressive art of all forms but lots of prohibitions accompany this to protect the artwork. Pity we don't have any memories to take back with us. It would have been the only experience along this trip that was worthwhile. For this reason I would encourage overseas visitors to spend your money elsewhere.

It's a nice garden but not as impressive as I imagined given the fact that it's a World Heritage Site.
