No English menus, the server we had possessed limited English knowledge as well. But don't let that stop you! The staff was super nice to us, helping us choose food despite language barriers. We had the mixed daily fish and matjesfilet, highly recommend the matjesfilet. House wine went good with the food and came in generous portions.
Where the locals eat ... So glad I stumbled upon this iconic delikatessen steps from Bismarckstr station. Not a dolled up tourist destination like Boston faneuil hall or SF ferry building but uniquely West Berlin delicatessen with stand-up food court to try their hearty foods like fischsuppe (5.90euro) or smoked freshwater eel or plaice - food you really don't find elsewhere. No fancy dining. Stand up eating with the locals
