Attention classical music fans/students: HUGE selection of LPs, CDs, music scores and books! Maybe the largest collection in Germany! There's always new products each time we visit. Price is very reasonable and much better than internet and other similar stores we visited. A few Tips: *Pay attention to the opening hours *Call to make an appointment *Follow their Facebook/Instagram for latest updates

Even though the website hasn't been updated for a while, I can confirm the shop is open on Fridays and Saturdays as advertised (the owner is actually actively loooking for someone who could help with the site). Robert is a very nice and interesting man to talk to. He claims that his shop attracts musicians as famous as like Marc-André Hamelin when he comes to Berlin. Not a huge collection of scores/books/LPs but looks like there is always something new in it, and definitely worth visiting.

A Must-go in Berlin if you love classical music/jazz or if you are studying music. You can find records, music books, scores of all kinds. Appointments by phone are needed if you are not going at opening hours.

To the Daniel Lighterman who posted above, and called himself a first-class pianist: There must be some clear misunderstanding here with the usage of \first class\. I mean, first of all, excuse me, WHO are you? Herr Hartwig had met great classical musicians whom you could never imagine. And I don't think that you deserve the privilege of being served during extra hours. And plus, no musicians with basic manners would ask anyone to do that. I've been to Herr Hartwig's store for quite a few times with my husband, who plays cello. And we were constantly amazed by Herr Hartwig's vast knowledge in classical music. He is a kind, honest and interesting man in nature, and we always had great time talking with him. The prices are amazingly cheap for what their worth. If you have any further doubts, go and check other store or in Internet for yourself. I wrote this much because I hate to see people giving irresponsible comments, especially to small business like this. It may jeopardize someone's reputation, okay??

Very nice selection of classical, ethnographic, and 20th century music. Prices are very good. Friendly owner. The store has many LPs. It’s helpful if you call or email the owner before hand if you have a special interest (note that response time over email is over a week). Very glad I went and can confirm that the store is, indeed, open!
