I had to work with them due to relocation to my new job. As a non-EU citizen, if things did not happen to be the worst that is because of the e-mails and calls that I made. Before work with them, I got in touch with two Ausländerbehörde and the process was very clear to me. When I expressed my concerns and explain to them the process that I have been told by authorities it took them 1 month to understand and act on. Also, I have been told I need to move immediately to Berlin 3 times in an only 6 week period. At this point, I hope it is very clear that this cost me almost a 2-month salary because of the new bookings in Berlin, cancellations and rental contract extension in my old city. When I am relieved that it all finished, they assigned me another consultant for 12 weeks. They haven‘t told her that I am already living in Germany so I received much generic information about how to get a sim card, etc, when I was worried about finding a place and arranging the moving service. The new consultant did not appear in the initial meeting without any notice and she sent me an e-mail after 1 hour saying that she can make it only on some days. I had to work with them only because it is a kind of service provided for me as a part of my employment. So please please please be very cautious working with them. Things can go messy if you are not sure what they are doing under your name. I know it is very hard to communicate with authorities in Germany but if you have questions they are trying to help you. I have no idea what Expath team is trying to do, but they just gave me stress, made me lose money while being super inconsistent and inconsiderate.

Expath has helped me apply for my freelance artist visa, along with multiple visa renewals over the years. I'm currently exploring longer-term residency permits and their coaching sessions are so helpful. Their coaches are extremely knowledgeable and answer any questions you may have. They also offer the option to have a translator accompany you to your visa appointment, which helped me feel more at ease with the process. I've also done my A1.1-B1.1 language courses with their school at both locations. I really appreciate their teachers' dedication to helping students learn the language. In my last course that started just as Corona lockdown began, our teacher began each course with going over the latest news / government statements and explained key terms to us. It really helped to learn German in context. I highly recommend this company/school -- they are really committed to helping foreigners navigate the system in Germany, especially for non-EU citizens like myself.
