Historic site of Berlin, built by the King of Prussia to close the city of Berlin. There were other gates but this gave access to the main (and most beautiful) avenue in the city. Subsequently, after the Second World War, it was on the famous \death fringe\, a region that anticipated entering the eastern side of Berlin. With the reunification of Germany, the surroundings were reconstituted giving place to hotels and embassies. A must for a visit to Berlin!

At its top was placed a \quadriga\ that represents the Greek goddess Irene, goddess of Peace. It was ordered to be built by the King of Prussia, Frederick William II. Due to damage suffered during World War II, the Arc it was restored at the beginning of the current millennium. It is one of the most representative landmarks in unified Germany.

Brandenburg gate is always gorgeous...but even more so during Christmas! It was oh so lively and the lights were beautiful! The gate illuminated by the surrounding fairy lights just hits differently, y'know?

A must see location whilst visiting the magnificent city of Berlin. So much history. Easy to get to, lovely walk across the parks and it is easy to forget the Berlin wall ran in front of it.

The gate was built at the request of the King of Prussia. Inside the door are sculptures from the baroque period. The door was very glamorous. It is one of the must-see places in Berlin. I definitely recommend you to see it when the lights are on in the dark, because it looks more glorious because you have starbucks across the street and enjoy your coffee....
